OCHIRA KALA

Ochira bull is an icon of the ochira temple.The well decorated bull is considered to be sacred and is believed to be vehicle for parabrahmam. Devotees can make donations to the bulls in both the nadas and also can donate calves to the temple as an offering.
The worshiping centers of the temple are the Gopuram, East nada, West nada, Ondikkavu, Ayyappa temple, Maha lekshmi temple & Ganapathy temple.

Before independance , ochira , nooranadu, karunagappally, chakkuvalli are under the rule of Kayamkulam king.

Beggers shelter

Ochira temple have about 36 acres of land, the premises is an open land with a few baniyan trees. Every day puja is performed on this baniyan tree foundations.

The most interesting concept of this temple is its acceptance of any one who is seeking shelter & help.The concept behind this temple is that god exists every where.
